Iraq announces arrival of 571,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine

Baghdad (UNA-OIC) – Iraq’s Ministry of Health and Environment announced on Sunday the arrival of 571,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in the country.

Ministry spokesman Saif Al-Badr said in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the vaccine will be distributed among health centers in Baghdad and all the country’s governorates. He pointed out that all vaccines are safe, effective, and manufactured by prestigious global hubs.

The Ministry of Health urged all citizens to quickly receive the vaccine doses by registration on the electronic platform or visiting the nearby vaccination sites.

Earlier, the ministry revealed negotiations with vaccine-producing countries to secure a quantity for 2022, while confirming that Pharmaceutical manufacturer Pfizer pledged to deliver the vaccine in cooler boxes to the vaccination points.
