Joha's Nail"...Sharon did not want a dialogue with the Palestinians that could have become, God forbid, the precedent for a dialogue about the future of the West Bank." |

Eight Years is Enough -- It's Time for a RaiseAs Republicans celebrate the anniversary of eight years in a row without a minimum wage increase this September, it is increasingly clear that the lowest paid workers in the US need a raise. The poverty and inequality exposed by the Katrina disaster proves this more than ever before. Because low wages are a primary cause of poverty, it is time to raise the federal minimum wage. |

Iraq, A Drain on American Power
"Bush attempts to pull at the national heartstrings by invoking the sacrifice of dead American soldiers to continue his failed policies. It is insulting that soldiers should keep dying and killing to defend Bush’s misadventure simply because many have already given their lives for their belief that they were defending their country." |

"Iraq is a No-Win, No-End War!" - Max Cleland"On Sept. 15, 2005, a Congressional “Forum” was held on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. It was chaired by anti-Iraqi War advocate, Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA). She accused the Bush-Cheney Gang of creating a “bloody and ruinous debacle,” in Iraq, and that it was long past the time to discuss exit strategies. Max Cleland, a witness at the Forum and a Vietnam War veteran, and ex-U.S. Senator, said, “Iraq is a No-Win, No-End War!” |

McGuinty Does Not Have the Last Word on Faith Based Arbitration"McGuinty's politically charged decision dismissed any opportunity to examine provisions for building in the accountability, transparency and safeguards that were clearly and reasonably outlined in the Boyd Report commissioned by his own government. His unilateral ban is also a blatant violation of fundamental guarantees accorded to all Canadians in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms; that is, freedoms of conscience and religious practice." |

AFL-CIO in Solidarity with Locked Out Canadian Workers"On 09/12/05, a rally was held in Washington, D.C., in solidarity with the 5,500 Canadian Media Guild (CMG) members, who have been locked out of their jobs. Linda Foley, President of the TNG-CWA; Larry Cohen of the CWA; and John Sweeney, President of the AFL-CIO, all blasted the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) for their deplorable tactics. They then presented letters of support for the CMG to an Embassy of Canada official." |

Along Baltimore City's Peace Path"On 09/11/05, demonstrators in Baltimore City turned out to protest rabid militarism and the Iraqi War. If this action also leads political hack, Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-MD), to speak out against the Iraqi War and to stop funding it, it will be a huge success! Her priority has been to give tens of billions of taxpayers’ money to Israel, while the Chesapeake Bay is dying from “dead zones,” and the levees at N.O. were in desperate need of repairs." |
